The results are on the Game and Fish website.  And once again I did not draw any of my three choices for off range.  Just wondering if anyone else had any luck.

All three of us put in.  Patrick and I didn't draw, but Andrew (Rather B. Fishing) drew for the youth hunt!  Best possible draw - only 20 hunters on the range that weekend!

It is good to hear that someone drew out.  I am hoping for better results for elk and deer.  If not, I will have to head east back to Illinois to hunt for some deer.

The first year I put in for oryx, I put my wife in also and she drew and I didn't.  That year I know of three other people that put in and put there wives in and all of the wives drew and no of the men.  Which that was better for me as it got my wife into hunting and she had a blast doing it.

Did most of you put in on or off range?

I have always put in off range hoping for better odds but I have also put in only for the prime months.  I know I would not want to be out there in July.  Way too hot.

I put in for my first time back in 2006 and drew.  It was the once in a lifetime hunt on range.  I have a neighbor who has been putting in for over 10 years or so and still cant draw!!

My luck this year was no better than anyone else's for Oryx. I do however, have tentative plans for Spring Turkey (on private land) though. Could have hunted deer or elk there last season but didn't have the time available.
Funny thing about pursuing your interests is that three things are pre-requisit; the interest, the time, the money. And if any of these three elements are missing from the equation, it's a sure bet the thing (whatever it is) ain't gonna happen.
Are there any varmint hunters on this forum?
